How to Play Baccarat – Complete Guide for Malaysian Players
Baccarat may seem intimidating at first glance, but it's actually one of the easiest casino games to pick up. Here's a quick guide for new players looking to try Baccarat at Pavilon88.
Game Objective
The goal of Baccarat is to predict whether the Banker's hand or the Player's hand will come closer to a value of 9. You are not playing directly against the dealer as in Blackjack — you are simply betting on which side you think will win.
Card Values
Numbered cards (2–9) carry their face value. Aces count as 1. 10s, Jacks, Queens, and Kings are all worth 0. If the total of two cards exceeds 9, only the last digit counts — for example, 7+8=15, so the value is 5.
Game Flow
First, place your bet on Banker, Player, or Tie before the cards are dealt. The dealer then deals two cards to the Banker and two to the Player. If either side scores 8 or 9 from the first two cards (a Natural), the game ends immediately. Otherwise, the preset third card rules determine whether either side draws a third card. Everything is handled automatically by the dealer — no decisions are required from you after your bet is placed.
Third Card Rules (Summary)
Player draws a third card if the total of the first two cards is 0–5. Player stands on 6 or 7. Banker follows more complex rules depending on the Player's card value — but again, all of this is handled automatically by the dealer at Pavilon88. You don't need to memorise these rules to enjoy the game.
That's the beauty of Baccarat — you can enjoy the game fully without needing to be an expert first. All you need to know is the card values, how to place your bets, and let the dealers at Pavilon88 handle the rest.
